Starting with a small irritation

Every item in our catalogue begins with something annoying around the house. A rug that bunches at the door. A pet fountain with a motor hum loud enough to notice across the kitchen. A packing cube zipper that catches when the bag is full. We do not design for display shelves. We build for the floor, the shower wall, and the suitcase.

Prototypes and plain testing

Before we add anything to our 458 products, we live with the samples. We put our 1/4-inch felt rug pads under heavy entry rugs to see if the edges curl after three months of footsteps. We run pet fountains next to a sound meter on a quiet night to keep the water pump under a whisper. For our packing cubes, we pack them, zip them shut, pull the seams, and unpack them again, hundreds of times in a row.

Materials for everyday handling

We pick materials that hold up to moisture, friction, and daily touch. That means stainless steel for our 22 oz coffee canisters and 34 oz French press, so no plastic touches the grounds. It means adhesive backings for our shower caddies that stay stuck through steam, and solid steel frames for our standing desks, whose tops run from 39.4 to 63 inches wide. If a part wears down too fast or feels flimsy between your fingers, we change the spec before it reaches your home.
