Protecting beans and grounds

Roasted coffee begins losing flavor as soon as it leaves the roaster. Three everyday elements speed up that decline: air, light, and moisture. Oxygen stales the natural oils in the beans. Direct light breaks down delicate aromatic compounds. Moisture from ambient kitchen steam causes ground coffee to clump and absorb foreign food odors.

Our stainless steel canisters address all three factors directly. The solid metal walls block out light entirely. The clamp lid and airtight silicone seal prevent ambient room air and humidity from reaching your supply.

Understanding canister capacity

Canisters run from 22 oz to 39 oz, and that figure measures internal liquid volume. Whole beans and ground coffee take up space differently because of their density. Whole roasted coffee beans are bulky and leave open air pockets between each bean. A 22 oz canister holds about 16 oz of whole beans, matching a standard bag. Ground coffee packs much closer together. In that same 22 oz canister, you can store approximately 19 oz of ground coffee.

Dial trackers and view windows

Coffee tastes best within a specific window after roasting. Several canister models include a mechanical date tracker built into the lid. You can adjust the wheel to record the original roast date from your coffee bag, or mark the day you opened it. That way, you know the age of your beans without writing on the container.

Other canisters in the line use a clear side window instead. This design lets you monitor how much coffee remains inside without opening the lid and exposing the contents to room air.

French press construction

The 34 oz French press brews approximately four standard mugs of coffee per batch. No plastic touches the coffee: The carafe is glass, and the plunger, filter screen, and underside of the lid are stainless steel.
